Babel Fish Translation – offers machine translation of individual words, short paragraphs, or whole web pages from one to another of 12 languages, including Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean
Yamada Language Guides a directory of language resources on the Web listed by name of language. Covers more than 100 languages.
MDBG Chinese-English Dictionary - more than just a dictionary, this site offers Chinese language study tools such as: flashcards, quizzes, and text annotation. Audio pronunciation is provided for several forms of Chinese including Mandarin and Cantonese. The site provides instructions on how to enable Chinese language characters in Windows XP and Vista.

Modern Language Association Language Map – uses data from the 2000 Census to create maps and tables for the number of people speaking one of thirty languages plus seven less commonly spoken groups of languages in the United States. Results can be viewed as color-coded maps by Mainland United States, state, county, or zip code; or in table format by entire U.S., state, county, zip code, metropolitan area, or town.
